'Insistence on sameness', which is also called 'repetitive and stereotypical behavior', is one of the major characteristics of autism and is often considered an abnormal behavior. Questionnaires were answered by 15 parents who have an autistic child. The results were as follows ; the aspect of appearance was different between 'stereotypical behavior', which is characterized by 'simple repetitive movement', and 'obsessive behavior', which is characterized by 'persistence', 'arranging', 'frequent questioning', and 'fantasy'. This suggests there is a different mechanism or background behind these behaviors. Secondly, 'obsessive behavior' was more frequently found in children who can understand plans beyond one week than others.
