It became evident that the variation of licorice which is one of the most important medicinal plant was higher in southern places by the search of distribution of licorice. This result was well collated with that of DNA analysis regarding the variation of licorice in China. The author collected the seeds of licorice from different places in Mongolia, seeded, analyzed the concentration of glycyrrhizin in licorice grown and selected plants containing higher amount of glycyrrhizin.
